Dutch Chinoiserie Long Eliza porcelain

Long Eliza is a pattern that gained popularity in the Netherlands at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century due to the Chinoiserie trend. European porcelain manufacturers copied this pattern with Chinese ladies from the Kangxi period (1662 - 1722), which at the time was also referred to as the 'Long Eliza' pattern (Lange Lijs in Dutch). In contrast to the hand-painted Chinese porcelain, the European Long Eliza items are decorated with a transfer print in blue on white. The Dutch producer Mosa (Maastricht) began producing its very succesful Long Eliza Chinoiserie service range in 1895.
