Rauenstein Greiner Strawflower porcelain
In 1783 Friedrich Christian Greiner und Söhne was founded by the three Greiner brothers in Rauenstein Castle in Thüringen, Germany. Following the successful Strawflower pattern line from Meissen, they started a same line, with the difference that the Rauenstein products were made of thicker porcelain and therefore broke less quickly than the Meissen products. This production line was an instant success. Greiner und Söhne, popularly known as Rauenstein, was in the hands of the Greiner family until 1893.
