A rather rare Limoges porcelain oyster plate by Charles Ahrenfeldt. This manufacturer is known, among other things, for its beautifully executed oyster dinnerware. This plate from the 1950s is decorated with a print in soft pastel tones. It depicts scenes from underwater life and shellfish. The plate is mentioned on page 139 of the collector's reference book 'Oyster Plates' by Jeffrey Snyder.
The plate has six recesses for oysters and a central recess for lemon or vinaigrette.
Marked on the underside.
Dimensions: diameter 24.5 cm.
Condition: the plate has an inconspicuous chip on the rim, see last photo.
