K & G Luneville Old Strasbourg oyster plate 19th century
SKU: SD10326Antique demi-porcelaine oyster plate by Keller & Guerin, Lunéville, France, around 1895.
The plate has six compartments for oysters and a central compartment for a lemon or vinaigrette. It is hand-decorated on an off-white background with the colorful floral pattern "Old Strasbourg." The plate has a dark pink border around the rim.
Marked on the underside with the Keller & Guerin mark, which was used around 1892-1900. It indicates demi-porcelaine, a quality between earthenware and porcelain.
Dimensions: diameter 24 cm.
