Hardanger is a Norwegian pewter producer that introduced the highly successful Kongetinn cutlery line in the 1970s, which depicts the saga of Viking King Olav the Saint in a traditional manner. Olav the Saint lived 1,000 years ago, and although the Vikings are primarily known for their violence and barbaric customs, during that period, there was a strong focus on art and craftsmanship. According to the saga, King Olav himself carved the dragon's head that adorned the bow of his boat. King Olav introduced Christianity to Norway and was later canonized. Many churches in Europe were named after him in his memory.
The Konge Tinn 'Royal Pewter' series is collected worldwide.
