Vintage wooden Chinnock double action corkscrew with copper vine decoration
SKU: CUR28
€ 32,50
Beautiful cherry wood corkscrew. Charles Chinnock designed this self-pulling corkscrew in 1862. A cylindrical frame is attached to the corkscrew, which keeps the corkscrew turning and pulls the cork out of the bottle neck. This design forms the basic design for all modern corkscrews designed after that. Beautiful red-brown color with a carved base, which is decorated with a copper plate with vine.
This example was made in the fifties.
Not marked.
Dimensions: 24 cm high when fully extended, 17 cm high when screwed in. The widest handle is 7.5 cm wide.
Condition: in excellent used condition. The copper plate with vine is deliberately not polished because the patina colors nicely with the wood.
